Two Little Artists

The girls are drawing here with old sidewalk chalks I pulled out of a dumpster while we were still living in Brooklyn last year. The colors are amazingly intense. Of course it makes a big mess with the little girls as is documented here in Brenda’s wonderful photo graph. Just yesterday we had another wonderful dumpster dive in the neighborhood pulling out many old treasures including old newspapers with big coverstories like when Roosevelt died and the D-day invasion. What is it about all these elderly people leaving behind homes and possessions with disinterested children and sending it all to the landfills?

So true…some people seem to think all old things/objects are bad. Thankfully, there are artists to rescue them.
