Pearl with pink rose
Pearl posed for this painting. I think the dress was what first kicked this painting into gear. Pearl was walking around the house in this white dress with the delicate triming along the neckline and sleaves—all white and the little roses at the waistline and I was just taken with her beauty and purity. The rose she carries is the last blossem on the neighbors bush in the alley around the corner from our house. I didn’t ask, I just took it. (I did knock on the door a few times but no one answered.) The back ground landscape is a combination of many different paintings I used for refrence.
